Concept Phone

Monday 16 July 2007 @ 3:58 pm

Nokia888

Could it be that in a few years time we shall be wearing our mobile phones as a fashion accessory or even around our wrists? The answer will be yes if Nokia and the 888 concept phone materializes. This phone offers a malleable interface that can be bent, twisted and wrapped into different shapes just like a wristband. Since the success of the Iphone manufacturers have been working flat out trying to find the next must have mobile phone.

Laptop Skins

Laptop Skin

How cool are these, laptop skins, not only do they personalise your computer, they protect it to. I plucked this one out at random but a quick search will throw up dozens of outlets selling these from as little as $19.99. Some of the companies I found even allow you to personalise them with your own image or logo, one seller on eBay even had a rather rude one of a very pretty blonde in her panties.

If you want to give your laptop a new look in seconds look for laptop skins that are printed on high resolution full-color premium grade vinyl. Most of the suppliers I checked out all claimed to use repositionable & removable adhesive backing for fast, easy and accurate installation and goo-free removal.

Japanese Doll

Saturday 7 July 2007 @ 9:16 am

There is something just so wrong about this doll from Japan. It cost 600,000 yen which using a currency converter equates to £2,420.00 or $4,684.00 (United States). I don’t know if it is because; it has an innocent helpless expression, it looks like it was modeled on a young teenager, it is just a little too life like or a combination of all these reasons. At the end of the day it is just a piece of latex so why has it got me feeling sorry for it. I feel like launching a save the latex doll action group.

Apple Iphone Sales

Saturday 30 June 2007 @ 11:23 am

IphoneSo the new Apple Iphone has hit the stores, lines started forming in New York four days before the iPhone went on sale with one lady paying the third person in the queue $200 to trade positions with her at position eighty.

The iPhone costs as much as $599 at Apple’s 164 stores but secondary market places like eBay are already selling them for nearer to four figures but after an expensive search it seems that ebay is the only place you are likely to be able to get one, well for the time being that is.

Humping Dog

Wednesday 20 June 2007 @ 6:07 am

Usb

The humping dog comes straight from Japan, one of the world leaders in completely useless but must have gadgets. The dog plugs straight into your USB socket and away he goes like he’s found a bitch on heat… Don’t expect anything else apart from the novelty factor from this dog, he’s not a flash drive and he doesn’t light up, however he will provide you with hours of fun watching the expressions on strangers faces on the commute to work.

Microsoft Surface

Friday 1 June 2007 @ 3:40 pm

What is Microsoft Surface? Microsoft Surface™, the first commercially available surface computer from Microsoft Corp., turns an ordinary tabletop into a vibrant, interactive surface. The product provides effortless interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects. Surface is a 30-inch display in a table-like form factor that’s easy for individuals or small groups to interact with in a way that feels familiar, just like in the real world. In essence, it’s a surface that comes to life for exploring, learning, sharing, creating, buying and much more. Soon to be available in restaurants, hotels, retail establishments and public entertainment venues, this experience will transform the way people shop, dine, entertain and live.

How does Surface work?
At a high level, Surface uses cameras to sense objects, hand gestures and touch. This user input is then processed and the result is displayed on the surface using rear projection.

What is surface computing?
Surface computing is a new way of working with computers that moves beyond the traditional mouse-and-keyboard experience. It is a natural user interface that allows people to interact with digital content the same way they have interacted with everyday items such as photos, paintbrushes and music their entire life: with their hands, with gestures and by putting real-world objects on the surface. Surface computing opens up a whole new category of products for users to interact with.

What are the key attributes of surface computing?
Surface computing has four key attributes:
• Direct interaction. Users can actually “grab” digital information with their hands and interact with content by touch and gesture, without the use of a mouse or keyboard.
• Multi-touch contact. Surface computing recognizes many points of contact simultaneously, not just from one finger, as with a typical touch screen, but up to dozens and dozens of items at once.
• Multi-user experience. The horizontal form factor makes it easy for several people to gather around surface computers together, providing a collaborative, face-to-face computing experience.
• Object recognition. Users can place physical objects on the surface to trigger different types of digital responses, including the transfer of digital content.
How does Surface benefit consumers?
Surface breaks down the traditional barriers between people and technology, providing effortless interaction with digital content. Similar to the way ATMs changed how people got money from the bank, Microsoft is changing the way people will interact with all kinds of everyday content, including photos, music, a virtual concierge and games. Common, everyday tasks become entertaining, enjoyable and engaging, alone or face-to-face with family, friends or co-workers.

Luxury Entertainment

Sunday 6 May 2007 @ 2:46 pm

Luxury BathI did question why anyone would want to get up and move away from the Aura Workstation from Poetic Technologies. I think I might have just found the answer in a luxury bathroom set-up by LG.

Large enough to seat two people (why would you want to share a bath with your friend when the football is on?) and with 32 jets to massage and relax your body this might be something you would remain seated in far too long and come out looking like a wrinkled prune.

I wonder if the screen would get steamed up… Maybe a good idea to have two people, you would need someone to clear the screen and operate the remote control for you now wouldn’t you??

Big Boys Toy

Friday 4 May 2007 @ 10:52 am

Computer ChairThe “Aura” by Poetic Technologies, for anyone like me who spends too long in front of the computer already apart from wanting to visit the lavatory why else would you want to vacate this beauty? Like many other high-tech chairs the Aura caters to its owner’s posture, in this case we are talking of a seven-way adjustable chair that can be ordered with inflatable and deflatable cushions.

The entire workstation handles up to four monitors and it can be rotated up to 120 degrees aimed at preventing glare, in fact it can be programmed to rotate 120 degrees every day over eight hours to follow the sun’s path…

As if that it not enough this seriously sexy workstation controls its own micro-climate, electronically filtering oxygen before delivery and letting its occupant change air settings up to 21.5 times per hour, the Aura can also be ordered with optional radiant heating. If this chair was a woman, it would be; Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley, Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie and Adriana Lima rolled into one.

Apple Iphone

Thursday 26 April 2007 @ 3:13 pm

I cannot wait to get my hands on one of these beauties the Apple Iphone. Apple are hitting back at the mobile phone makers who have been cashing in on cell phones which double as MP3 players with the new Apple Iphone. It is the first true touch screen cell phone which can sync with your computer, play music and videos, it has visual voice mail, can connect to the Internet and of course, it can make a phone call. Scheduled to be released at the end of June in the States and October for the UK it is going to be the must have gadget of the year.
